Crowds at Gallery Night Pensacola

April’s Gallery Night Pensacola is All About Earth Day!

Event features recycle artist Reese Foret and an electric car show

On Friday, April 19 from 5pm-9pm followed by an after pARTy, 9pm-11pm, Gallery Night Pensacola is all about Earth Day. Palafox Street (from Garden Street to Main Street) in Downtown Pensacola will be closed to vehicle traffic and provide open streets for patrons to explore and enjoy music, art, food and more. Many participating Gallery Night artists and merchants will highlight works that encompass the Earth Day theme. There will also be an electric car show, Sun Farm Energy and more. The Youth Music Project stage, sponsored by Stevenson Klotz Law, will feature the University of West Florida’s Argo Athletic Band from 6-8pm. The Vista Event Karaoke stage, sponsored by Bob Tyler Toyota, DR Horton Homes and Wild Greg’s Saloon, will get kicked off at 6:30pm. The karaoke stage will be located at the intersection of Palafox and Garden Streets.

Gallery Night Pensacola’s April featured artist is Reese Foret. Foret’s ReeceCycledArt is beloved for her affectionate and creative use of recycled materials, such as cutting boxes and labels from a liquor store and turning them into branches for a bird’s nest, or turning an empty sardine can into a charming object de art. Recycling, Foret believes, can also mean revisiting. Foret often weaves ideas and places from years past back into the present, with animals and water among the poignant themes resurfacing in her works.

Reese holds a BA of Fine Arts from Auburn University. She lives in Gulf Breeze, Florida, with her two daughters who inspire her to be the best she can be every day.

Gallery Night events bring “Art To The Streets” with 30 fine artists, craftsman, five food trucks, and live music venues. Artistic mediums to include glass, paint, woodworking, jewelry, and mixed media.
